  • The student must pass in the SSLC Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the University for admission to Certificate course in Food Production, Bakery & Confectionary Food & Beverage Service, House Keeping and Front Office.

Internship

An internship provides an excellent opportunity to explore career possibilities, gain experience, develop marketable skills, and establish professional connections. In some cases, an internship can even lead to a great job.

Students of Catering & Hotel Administration can undergo internship in leading Hotel Industries. Some internships offer academic credit or pay, while others don’t. Internships during the academic year typically require eight to 16 hours of time a week, while summer internships are more likely to involve a full-time commitment for as many as 10 to 12 weeks.

National Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology shall recommend that our students hold at least two internships during their undergraduate years. You can begin as early as freshman year and continue through your senior year.

Industrial Visit

Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree/diploma in Hospitality career. So National Institute of Hotel Management & catering Technology focus more importance for industrial tour/visit. Every year our students are attending the industrial visits as it is considered as a part of college curriculum. We know, theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career. With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical perspective on the world of work. It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college. Industrial visits provide an excellent opportunity to interact with industrialists and know more about industrial environment.

Industrial visits are arranged by National Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology to students with an objective of providing students functional opportunity in different sectors. Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge. Industrial realities are opened to the students through industrial visits.

Our Training Methodology

The decision on the choice of intervention techniques is purely based on the Pre Training Analysis report. A series of Pre Training Assessments will be administered to each and every individual and will be mapped on the skill-will matrix. The students will then be coached, guided, mentored, supported or trained depending on the needs of the students. In order to measure the training effectiveness the students will also be subjected to a series of Post Training Assessment after completion of each of the training module.

Training Modules

The training modules are developed by skilled content developers. The sessions are structured in such a way that the participation of the students is given as much importance as the participation of the facilitator in the session. Adult Learning Methodologies are incorporated in the demeanor of the Training Structure.
